Des Moines Golf & Country Club – 2017 Solheim Cup
From 2013-1016, Director of Grounds Rick Tegtmeier oversaw a complete renovation of the golf course utilizing Pro/Angle Bunker Sand in its bunkers.
Des Moines Golf & CC has a long history of improvements & renovations including moving the club itself to different properties, but the most recent renovation maintained the only remaining Pete Dye designed golf course in Iowa.
The club was thrust on to the international stage in 2017 by hosting the Solheim Cup, a three-day match play competition featuring LPGA pros from Europe against the top pros from the United States.
Silvis, Illinois
TPC Deere Run – Home of the John Deere Classic
TPC Deere Run recently completed a 2021 bunker renovation project using Pro/Angle® Bunker Sand. The course is the annual site of the John Deere Classic.
Under the management of Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations Alex Stuedemann, all bunkers were rebuilt with Pro/Angle Bunker Sand and liners from Capillary Concrete.
Last renovated in 2000, Deere Run elected to use Pro/Angle Bunker Sand, as it did for its previous renovation over two decades ago.

Bigwin Island Golf Club
Bigwin Island Golf Club renovated their bunkers using R.W. Sidley’s Pro/Angle Bunker Sand. Bigwin Island offers a truly unique golf experience as players must travel to and from the private island by boat. The wooded rolling terrain and vistas create a stunning backdrop to a course meticulously maintained by Superintendent Kevin Schultz. Bigwin Island presented unique logistical challenges as the angular sand had to be transported using a combination of long-haul trucks and barges. Hutcheson Sand & Mixes, our distributor for Pro/Angle in Canada, supplied the materials for this project.
Windsor, Ontario, Canada
Private Beach
Golf course bunkers are often referred to as being “in the beach.” In this application, our Pro/Angle Bunker Sand was literally used as a beach! The project required 105 super sacks of sand that were shipped and placed from a barge. Pro/Angle helped create a functional beach behind a retaining wall on the lake at a private residence. The project was supplied by Hutcheson Sand & Mixes, our distributor for Pro/Angle in Canada.
